In-Line®: the favourably-priced alternative from Germany now available in South Africa for the first time!
The Rasteder Orthodontic laboratory with a focus on all gnathoorthopaedics techniques presents the production, application and effectiveness of In-Line® splints. The correction of defective positioned teeth with plastic splints is not entirely new. In 1945 Dr. H. D. Kiesling had the vision to reposition teeth with this method. Due to the continuing development of materials and techniques malaligned teeth can be corrected by using In-Line® splints. In conjunction with the expert knowledge so much more is possible. To manufacture the In-Line® splint, master models of the initial situation are needed. The teeth will be moved into the desired position step-by-step. To control any adjustments, picture of the models are taken. This arrangement will be overlapped with the initial position. For each intermediate step a splint is made which will be worn for 6 to 8 weeks provided on how often the patient wears it. The number of splints required depends on the level of defective positioned teeth. A special focus is on aesthetic and cosmetic correction, for example overcrowded or rotated teeth with or without extractions. Even diastemas (spaces between teeth) and protruded teeth can be corrected with In-Line®. In-Line® splints are transparent splints with an adapted soft inner layer. They enable teeth to move without the time consuming application of attachments. Due to the soft material the splints have a better adhesion to the relevant teeth. To correct defective positioned teeth the In-Line® splint can be selectively cut incisally. With broad cutting even severe corrections can be treated with few splints. Special adjustment expanders can help the splint to remain in its position during protrusions or compression of the incisal arch. Extensive experience has been gained through numerous In-Line® treatments. We are constantly developing new methods and processes that have a strong influence on our laboratory work. Newly gained and proved results will be included in our In-Line® treatments immediately. Despite all the successful results of this gentle and almost invisible treatment of defective positioned teeth the focus is on the patient and on the result.
Only through intensive use and by following all the instructions can the desired result be reached within the estimated time. For more infomation on this technique visit www,in-line.eu and click on the SA link. |
