Dentures can be manufactured in either full plastic or partial plastic (Flexite).  As biological dentists we want to minimalize the use of acrylics and metals in the mouth, and have found the use of Flexite to be of particular benefit.

Old denture: The upper lip is not supported, and the teeth are visible worn down.

Old denture: The lips are thin, and the corners of the mouth are sagging.

Old denture: The thin upper lip is clearly visible from the side.

New denture: The smile is perfectly alinged. The bottom edge of the upper lip is just touching the upper line of the bottom lip, and the pink gums are slightly visible.

New denture: When closed, the broader upper lip is visible. Better support for the upper lip prevents the corners of the mouth from sagging.
